By visiting our website, placing an order, downloading software, beginning a trial, purchasing a subscription, or otherwise using an Old Salty Mill product or service, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our website, software, products, or services.

Old Salty Mill Software Products may include:
- Old Salty Mill Designer
- Old Salty Mill Box Designer
- Old Salty Mill Shop Manager
- Standalone design generators
- Pattern, image, relief, and fabrication utilities
- Machine-control and production tools
- Related modules, add-ons, updates, and future products
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the legal age of majority where you live, to make a purchase or enter into a paid subscription.
If you use our products or software on behalf of a business, employer, shop, school, or organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.
You may not use our products or services if doing so would violate applicable law.
3. Account Information
Some services may require an account with Shopify, Microsoft, a payment processor, or another third-party provider.
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- Keeping your contact information current
- Preventing unauthorized access
- Informing us promptly of suspected misuse
- All activity occurring through your account unless prohibited by law
Old Salty Mill is not responsible for losses resulting from your failure to protect account credentials.
4. Orders and Acceptance
Submitting an order does not guarantee acceptance.
We may reject, cancel, limit, or refund an order for reasons including:
- Product unavailability
- Pricing or listing errors
- Suspected fraud
- Payment failure
- Shipping restrictions
- Incomplete customization information
- Infringing or unlawful submitted content
- Technical issues

An order is accepted when we confirm acceptance, begin production, ship the product, deliver the digital item, or activate the applicable software license.
5. Product Information
We attempt to describe products accurately. However:
- Colors may vary by screen or material
- Wood grain, knots, tone, and texture naturally vary
- Handmade products may have minor differences
- Product dimensions may have reasonable manufacturing tolerances
- Digital previews may differ from the finished physical item
- Software screenshots may change as the product is updated
Natural material variations and minor handmade differences are not defects.
6. Pricing and Payment
Prices are displayed in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated.
You agree to pay:
- Product price
- Applicable taxes
- Shipping charges
- Subscription fees
- Add-on fees
- Other charges disclosed before purchase
Prices may change at any time for future purchases.
A price change does not ordinarily affect a completed purchase or an already-paid billing period.
Payment may be processed by:
- Shopify Payments
- PayPal
- Microsoft Store
- Other authorized payment processors
We generally do not receive your complete payment-card information.
7. Taxes
You are responsible for applicable sales, use, excise, value-added, customs, import, or similar taxes unless collected by us or the sales platform.
Tax calculations may be performed by Shopify, Microsoft, or another provider.
8. Physical Products
Production Time
Processing and production times are estimates and are not guarantees.
Custom, engraved, CNC-cut, laser-cut, handcrafted, or made-to-order products may require additional time.
Shipping
Shipping dates and delivery estimates are not guaranteed.
We are not responsible for delays caused by:
- Carriers
- Weather
- Customs
- Natural disasters
- Labor disruptions
- Incorrect addresses
- Security inspections
- Events outside our reasonable control
Risk of Loss
Risk of loss transfers as permitted by applicable law and the shipping terms used for the order.
Contact us promptly if a package is lost, damaged, or marked delivered but not received.
9. Custom and Personalized Products
Custom products may include:
- Names
- Dates
- Logos
- Photographs
- Artwork
- Dimensions
- Layout instructions
- Engraving requests
- Material selections
- Other personalization
You are responsible for checking all information submitted to us.
We are not responsible for errors resulting from information you approved or supplied, including:
- Misspellings
- Incorrect dates
- Wrong measurements
- Low-quality images
- Incorrect addresses
- Unsuitable artwork
- Customer-requested layouts
Once production begins, changes may not be possible.
Custom or personalized products may be nonreturnable except where defective, damaged, incorrectly produced by us, or otherwise required by law.
10. User-Submitted Content
When you submit artwork, text, logos, photographs, designs, files, or instructions, you represent that:
- You own the content or have permission to use it
- Our use will not violate another party’s rights
- The content is lawful
- The content does not contain malware
- The content does not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights
You grant Old Salty Mill a limited license to use submitted content only as reasonably necessary to:
- Fulfill your order
- Provide support
- Produce requested files
- Diagnose an issue
- Communicate with you
- Maintain business records
We may reject content that we reasonably believe is unlawful, infringing, harmful, deceptive, or inappropriate.
11. Digital Products
Digital products may include:
- SVG files
- DXF files
- Templates
- Documentation
- Design files
- Software installers
- Updates
- Other downloadable materials
Unless otherwise stated, digital products are licensed, not sold.
You may not:
- Resell the digital file itself
- Redistribute the source file
- Upload it to file-sharing sites
- Share it with unauthorized users
- Claim ownership of Old Salty Mill content
- Remove copyright or ownership notices
- Use it to create a competing digital-product library
Specific product-listing terms control if they provide broader or narrower rights.
12. Software License
Subject to payment and compliance with these Terms, Old Salty Mill grants you a limited, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to install and use the applicable Old Salty Mill Software Product.
Unless the applicable license says otherwise, the license is for:
- One person or one household
- Personal or internal business use
- The number of devices stated in the product listing
- The active subscription or license period
The software is licensed, not sold.
All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Old Salty Mill.
13. Hobbyist License
Unless a different license tier is purchased, software may be provided under a Hobbyist License.
A Hobbyist License generally permits:
- Personal projects
- Hobby use
- Small-shop use
- Creating physical products for sale
- Creating production files for your own work
- Saving reusable local designs
A Hobbyist License does not permit:
- Reselling or sublicensing the software
- Sharing activation rights
- Hosting the software for third-party use
- Selling access to the software
- Removing ownership notices
- Distributing copies
- Reverse engineering except where law expressly permits
- Using the software source or interface to build a competing product
- Circumventing trial, licensing, or subscription controls
Additional license tiers may have different limits.
14. Prohibited Software Uses
You may not:
- Copy or distribute the software except for permitted backups
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble it except where applicable law expressly allows
- Bypass licensing, activation, subscription, or trial systems
- Modify the software to avoid payment
- Use stolen or shared license credentials
- Introduce malware or harmful code
- Interfere with Store entitlement checks
- Use the software for unlawful activity
- Misrepresent ownership
- Rent, lease, sublicense, or resell the software
- Use automated means to extract substantial parts of our software or documentation
- Use our branding without permission
15. Microsoft Store Purchases
Some Old Salty Mill Software Products may be distributed through the Microsoft Store.
Microsoft may manage:
- Download delivery
- Microsoft account sign-in
- Payment processing
- Trials
- Subscription billing
- Automatic renewal
- Entitlement verification
- Updates
- Refund requests
- Cancellation
Microsoft’s own terms and policies also apply to Microsoft Store transactions.
Old Salty Mill generally does not control Microsoft’s billing systems or complete payment records.
16. Trials
A software product may include a free or discounted trial.
The trial length and terms will be displayed before enrollment.
Unless otherwise stated:
- Trial access begins when activated
- Trial eligibility may be limited
- One trial may be allowed per Microsoft account, device, household, business, or product
- Trial features may be identical to or more limited than paid features
- Trial access ends at expiration
- Some functions may become unavailable after expiration
A Store-managed trial may convert automatically to a paid subscription unless canceled before the trial ends.
Trial and renewal terms must be disclosed clearly, and users should be told how to cancel before billing begins.
17. Subscriptions
Some software may be offered as a recurring subscription.
For example, an offering may include:
- A free trial
- A monthly subscription
- Automatic renewal
- A price disclosed before purchase
By starting a subscription, you authorize the applicable platform or payment provider to charge the disclosed recurring fee and applicable taxes until canceled.
Renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless canceled.
Cancellation
You may cancel through the Microsoft account, Shopify account, payment provider, or other method identified at purchase.
Cancellation normally stops future renewals but does not retroactively refund a completed billing period unless required by law or approved by the payment provider.
Price Changes
We may change subscription prices for future billing periods where permitted.
Advance notice will be provided where required.
Expiration
If a subscription expires or is canceled:
- Paid functions may become unavailable
- Export or production functions may be restricted
- Read-only or limited access may remain available
- User-created local files will not intentionally be deleted solely because the subscription ended
- You remain responsible for maintaining backups
18. Software Updates
We may provide updates that:
- Add features
- Remove features
- Correct errors
- Improve security
- Change compatibility
- Update licensing
- Modify file formats
- Replace earlier versions
Updates may be automatic through the Microsoft Store or offered as downloads.
Continued use after an update may require acceptance of revised terms.
We do not guarantee support for every older version indefinitely.
19. Local Files and Backups
Old Salty Mill Software Products may save files locally, including:
- Projects
- Designs
- Templates
- Machine profiles
- Customer-entered data
- Design libraries
- Export files
- Settings
- Recovery files
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining backups
- Confirming the save location
- Protecting your computer
- Using reliable storage
- Keeping sufficient disk space
- Protecting files from ransomware, deletion, corruption, or hardware failure
Old Salty Mill is not a cloud-backup service unless expressly stated.
20. Design and Manufacturing Accuracy
Old Salty Mill software is a design and production-assistance tool.
You are responsible for verifying:
- Measurements
- Material thickness
- Kerf
- Burn correction
- Tool diameter
- Machine calibration
- Joinery fit
- Cut settings
- Toolpaths
- Units
- Scale
- Workholding
- Clearances
- Exported geometry
- Safe machine operation
Always perform a test cut before producing valuable material or finished products.
Software-generated dimensions, previews, simulations, and toolpaths must be reviewed by the user.
21. CNC, Laser, and Machine Safety
CNC routers, lasers, rotary tools, spindles, cutting tools, and automated machines can cause:
- Fire
- Burns
- Eye injury
- Electric shock
- Toxic fumes
- Property damage
- Severe injury
- Death
You are solely responsible for:
- Following machine manufacturer instructions
- Proper ventilation
- Fire prevention
- Supervision
- Eye and hearing protection
- Safe workholding
- Correct wiring
- Emergency-stop access
- Material compatibility
- Machine calibration
- Local laws and safety rules
Never leave a laser, CNC, or other hazardous machine operating unattended.
Old Salty Mill does not control your machine, material, wiring, environment, or operator conduct.
22. Machine Control Features
If software includes machine-control capabilities:
- Verify the active machine
- Verify controller firmware
- Verify axis direction
- Verify units
- Verify work coordinates
- Verify travel limits
- Verify homing behavior
- Test motion at low speed
- Keep an emergency stop accessible
- Supervise all movement
You assume all risk associated with connecting software to physical equipment.
23. Third-Party Software and Components
Our software may use third-party libraries, runtimes, fonts, tools, drivers, or components.
Those components may be governed by separate licenses.
Third-party services may include:
- Microsoft
- Shopify
- PayPal
- Shipping carriers
- Operating-system services
- Open-source libraries
We do not control third-party systems and are not responsible for their availability, security, policies, or performance.
24. Intellectual Property
All rights in Old Salty Mill products and materials remain owned by Old Salty Mill or its licensors, including:
- Software
- Source code
- User interfaces
- Graphics
- Logos
- Product names
- Documentation
- Tutorials
- Help files
- Templates
- Website content
- Product photographs
- Written text
- Design systems
- Branding
“Old Salty Mill” and related names, logos, and branding may not be used without permission.
25. Feedback and Suggestions
If you submit feedback, ideas, feature requests, or suggestions, you grant Old Salty Mill permission to use them without restriction or compensation.
This does not transfer ownership of your independent project files or original designs.
26. Support
Support may be available by email or through other channels we identify.
We do not guarantee:
- Immediate responses
- Resolution of every issue
- Compatibility with unsupported hardware
- Compatibility with modified systems
- Recovery of lost files
- Custom programming
- Continued support for obsolete versions
Support may require:
- Version number
- Build ID
- Screenshots
- Error logs
- Sample design files
- System information
Only send information reasonably necessary for support.
27. Refunds and Returns
Returns and refunds are governed by our separate Refund Policy and any terms shown at purchase.
Unless required by law:
- Downloaded digital products may be nonrefundable
- Activated software may be nonrefundable
- Subscription charges may be nonrefundable for completed billing periods
- Custom products may be nonreturnable
- Shipping costs may be nonrefundable
- Microsoft Store refunds are governed by Microsoft
Nothing in these Terms limits nonwaivable consumer rights.
28. Promotions and Discounts
Promotions may have:

Discounts cannot be combined unless expressly allowed.

Termination does not eliminate obligations that arose before termination.
Sections concerning ownership, payment, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, dispute resolution, and other provisions intended to survive will remain effective.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, products, software, website content, downloads, and services are provided:
“AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE.”
Old Salty Mill disclaims warranties including:
- Merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Noninfringement
- Accuracy
- Reliability
- Availability
- Compatibility
- Error-free operation
- Uninterrupted service
- Particular manufacturing results
We do not warrant that:
- Every design will fit perfectly
- Every export will work with every machine
- Software will be compatible with every device
- Files will never be lost
- Software will be free of defects
- Results will meet every production requirement
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some exclusions may not apply to you.
32. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Old Salty Mill will not be liable for:
- Indirect damages
- Incidental damages
- Special damages
- Consequential damages
- Punitive damages
- Lost profits
- Lost revenue
- Lost data
- Lost production
- Business interruption
- Material waste
- Machine damage
- Fire
- Personal injury caused by machine operation
- Replacement-production costs
- Third-party claims
- Losses caused by incorrect measurements or settings
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Old Salty Mill’s total liability relating to a product, software license, subscription, or service will not exceed the amount you paid Old Salty Mill for the specific product or service giving rise to the claim during the twelve months preceding the event.
Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
33. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Old Salty Mill and its owners, employees, contractors, and representatives from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and reasonable expenses arising from:
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your misuse of products or software
- Your submitted content
- Your infringement of another person’s rights
- Your machine operation
- Products you manufacture using the software
- Your violation of law
34. Force Majeure
Old Salty Mill is not responsible for delay or failure caused by events beyond reasonable control, including:
- Natural disasters
- Storms
- Fire
- Flood
- War
- Terrorism
- Civil unrest
- Government action
- Labor disputes
- Utility outages
- Internet outages
- Carrier delays
- Supply shortages
- Epidemics
- System failures
- Third-party service failures
35. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise.
36. Dispute Resolution and Venue
Before filing a formal claim, you agree to contact us at:
and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute.
Unless applicable law requires otherwise, legal proceedings relating to these Terms will be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction serving Bay County, Florida.
You and Old Salty Mill waive objections to that venue where legally permitted.
37. Time Limit for Claims
To the extent permitted by law, a claim relating to these Terms must be brought within one year after the claim arose.
This section does not apply where law prohibits shortening the applicable limitation period.
38. No Waiver
Failure to enforce a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.
39. Severability
If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective.
The invalid provision will be enforced to the greatest lawful extent.
40. Assignment
You may not transfer these Terms or a software license without written permission.
Old Salty Mill may assign its rights and obligations as part of a merger, acquisition, sale, reorganization, or transfer of business assets.
41. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with applicable policies, product descriptions, software licenses, and checkout disclosures, constitute the entire agreement between you and Old Salty Mill concerning the applicable product or service.
